[547] Where the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) arises, does the life faculty (jīvitindriya) arise there? — Yes.
Or rather, where the life faculty arises, does the masculinity faculty arise there? — In the form sphere (rūpāvacara) and the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), the life faculty arises there, but the masculinity faculty does not arise there; in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), there both the life faculty arises and the masculinity faculty arises.
