[204] Summary verse (uddāna): The sectarians (titthiyā), and Bimbisāra; assembling, they sat silent; (reciting) Dhamma; in private; the Pātimokkha — then daily, (then) once (a fortnight); According as the assembly (may be); to those in concord; unity (sāmaggī); and Maddakucchi; The boundary (sīmā); one too large; (one on the far side of) a river; the subsidiary (precincts); two (uposatha halls); and (halls) too small; The newly ordained, and at Rājagaha; the boundary for not being apart (from the three robes); One should first authorize the (common-communion) boundary, afterwards one may revoke the boundary; Where none is authorized, the village boundary (holds); on a river, on the sea, on a natural lake, (the boundary is) a splash of water (udakukkhepa); they overlap (boundaries), and likewise they superimpose (one upon another); How many (uposathas)? (How many) acts (of uposatha)? (How many) recitations? Wanderers (sañcarā), and even when there is no (danger); (Teaching) Dhamma; they intimidate concerning Vinaya, (and) again intimidation over the Vinaya(-answer); Accusation; when leave has been given; protesting against (an act) that is not Dhamma; Four or five making (their protest) heard; and even should one deliberately (recite inaudibly); one should make the effort (to recite); With householders (present); unrequested; in an accusation he does not know; Several (together) do not know; (one who can return) that very day; and they do not go; Which (day of the fortnight)? How many (bhikkhus)? Far away (for alms); and to announce; he did not remember; The unswept (hall); the seats; the lamp; (gone to) distant regions; another who is learned; That very day; the rains; the uposatha; purity (pārisuddhi); the (formal) act; and the relatives; Gagga; four, three, two, one; an offense; a common (offense); he remembered; The whole Saṅgha in doubt; they do not know; one who is learned; More, exactly equal, fewer; and when the assembly has (not yet) risen; Some risen; all (risen); they know; and (they are) doubtful; Scrupulous, (thinking) "it is allowable"; knowing, seeing, and they hear; Incoming (bhikkhus) with a resident one; the fourteenth (and) the fifteenth again; The first day (of the fortnight) and the fifteenth; those in communion by the marks (liṅga) and by communion (saṃvāsa), both; The (purity) held over; the non-uposatha (day), except for the unity of the Saṅgha.
