[68] Then, friend, the bhikkhu Assaji spoke this exposition of the Dhamma (dhammapariyāya): Of those dhammas that arise from a cause, the Tathāgata has declared their cause, and also that which is their cessation — such is the doctrine of the Great Ascetic.
