[1838] A phenomenon (dhamma) having the path as object is a condition, by contiguity condition (samanantara-paccaya), for a phenomenon having the path as object — the same as the immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya).
It is a condition by connascence condition (sahajāta-paccaya); it is a condition by mutuality condition (aññamañña-paccaya); it is a condition by dependence condition (nissaya-paccaya). In all three [conditions], seventeen questions should be formulated.
