[1885] With not-root condition (na-hetu-paccaya), twenty-one. With not-object condition (na-ārammaṇa-paccaya), seventeen. When the not-object condition is taken, both the natural object (pakatārammaṇa) and the decisive-support object (upanissayārammaṇa)—these two—are cut off. With not-predominance condition (na-adhipati-paccaya), twenty-one. With not-proximity condition (na-anantara-paccaya), with not-contiguity condition (na-samanantara-paccaya), with not-conascence condition (na-sahajāta-paccaya), with not-mutuality condition (na-aññamañña-paccaya), with not-dependence condition (na-nissaya-paccaya), with not-decisive-support condition (na-upanissaya-paccaya), with not-prenascence condition (na-purejāta-paccaya), with not-postnascence condition (na-pacchājāta-paccaya), with not-repetition condition (na-āsevana-paccaya), with not-kamma condition (na-kamma-paccaya), with not-result condition (na-vipāka-paccaya), with not-nutriment condition (na-āhāra-paccaya), with not-faculty condition (na-indriya-paccaya), with not-jhāna condition (na-jhāna-paccaya), with not-path condition (na-magga-paccaya), with not-association condition (na-sampayutta-paccaya), with not-dissociation condition (na-vippayutta-paccaya), with not-presence condition (no-atthi-paccaya), with not-absence condition (no-natthi-paccaya), with not-disappearance condition (no-vigata-paccaya), and with not-non-disappearance condition (no-avigata-paccaya), twenty-one. Thus it should be counted. The Negative (Paccanīya).
