[326] A phenomenon (dhamma) cognizable by something is a condition, by root condition (hetu-paccaya), for a phenomenon cognizable by something: roots (hetū) that are cognizable by something are a condition, by root condition, for the associated aggregates (sampayuttaka-khandhā) and for mind-originated forms (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa).
