[91] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is a root (hetu) and is associated (sampayutta) with painful feeling (dukkhā vedanā), a phenomenon that is a root and is associated with painful feeling arises — by root condition (hetu-paccaya). Dependent on a phenomenon that is a root and is associated with painful feeling, a phenomenon that is not a root and is associated with painful feeling arises — by root condition. Dependent on a phenomenon that is a root and is associated with painful feeling, a phenomenon that is a root and is associated with painful feeling and a phenomenon that is not a root and is associated with painful feeling arise — by root condition. Dependent on a phenomenon that is not a root and is associated with painful feeling, a phenomenon that is not a root and is associated with painful feeling arises — by root condition. Three.
