[196] A not-wholesome phenomenon (dhamma) that is not a not-root (na-nahetu) is a condition (paccaya) for a not-wholesome phenomenon that is not a not-root by root condition (hetu-paccaya). A not-wholesome phenomenon that is not a not-root is a condition for a not-root (na-hetu) not-wholesome phenomenon by root condition. A not-wholesome phenomenon that is not a not-root is a condition for a not-root not-wholesome phenomenon and a not-wholesome phenomenon that is not a not-root by root condition.
