Akiriyavādakathā

[87] The fire-oblation (aggihutta) is the chief of sacrifices; the Sāvittī is the chief of Vedic metres; a king is the chief of human beings; the ocean is the chief of rivers; the moon is the chief of the constellations; the sun is the chief of things that shine with heat; for those desiring merit and making offerings, the Saṅgha, truly, is the chief. Then the Blessed One, having expressed appreciation (anumodanā) to Keṇiya the matted-hair ascetic with these verses, rose from his seat and departed.
