[309] Now at that time bhikkhus used elsewhere the lodging-furnishings (senāsana) belonging to the dwelling (vihāra) of a certain lay follower (upāsaka). Then that lay follower complained, criticized, and spread it about, saying: "How can the venerable ones use elsewhere what is meant for use in one place?" They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, what is meant for use in one place is not to be used elsewhere. Whoever should so use it commits an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa)."
