[76] Now at that time bhikkhus were doing building work (navakamma). The water-strainer (parissāvana) did not suffice. They informed the Blessed One of this matter. "Bhikkhus, I allow a strainer on a pole (daṇḍaparissāvana)." The strainer on a pole did not suffice. They informed the Blessed One of this matter. "Bhikkhus, I allow a filter spread over the water (ottharika)."
