[1016] Having arranged the robe over one shoulder, having raised the joined palms in reverence, with the look of one in expectation— for what purpose have you come here? "Those training rules (sikkhāpada) laid down in the two Vinayas come up for recitation on the Uposatha days— how many are those training rules, and in how many cities were they laid down?" "Excellent is your penetrating inquiry; you question wisely. Indeed, then, I shall tell you, even as one who is skilled. "Those laid down in the two Vinayas come up for recitation on the Uposatha days— they number three hundred and fifty, laid down in seven cities."
