[1123] (Summary verse)
The subject (vatthu), the origin (nidāna), the manner (ākāra),
what comes before and what comes after, what has been done and what has not been done,
the formal act (kamma) and the legal issue (adhikaraṇa),
and the settlement (samatha); and going astray through desire,
through hatred, through delusion, and through fear;
making [others] understand and making [them] reflect,
looking on, inspiring confidence; "I am of [that] faction,"
and by one who is learned and by one who is more senior;
what has not come to pass and what has come to pass,
by the Dhamma and by the Vinaya,
and also by the Teacher's dispensation —
[this is] the making known of the Great Conflict (Mahāsaṅgāma).
