[1202] "Venerable sir, when a **bhikkhu** is possessed of how many factors should a formal act (kamma) be carried out against him by the bhikkhunī Saṅgha alone?"
"Upāli, when a bhikkhu is possessed of five factors, a formal act should be carried out against him by the bhikkhunī Saṅgha alone: that bhikkhu is not to be venerated by the bhikkhunī Saṅgha. Which five? He uncovers his body and shows it to the bhikkhunīs; he shows his thigh; he shows his genitals; he shows both his shoulders; he speaks suggestively and brings householders into association. Possessed of these five factors, Upāli, a formal act should be carried out against a bhikkhu by the bhikkhunī Saṅgha alone: that bhikkhu is not to be venerated by the bhikkhunī Saṅgha.
"Possessed of five further factors, Upāli, a formal act should be carried out against a bhikkhu by the bhikkhunī Saṅgha alone: that bhikkhu is not to be venerated by the bhikkhunī Saṅgha. Which five? He strives for the bhikkhunīs' loss of gains; he strives for the bhikkhunīs' harm; he strives for the bhikkhunīs' loss of dwelling; he abuses and reviles bhikkhunīs; he causes division between bhikkhus and bhikkhunīs. Possessed of these five factors, Upāli, a formal act should be carried out against a bhikkhu by the bhikkhunī Saṅgha alone: that bhikkhu is not to be venerated by the bhikkhunī Saṅgha.
