Sedamocanagāthā

[1320] Having charged him and having reminded him, one would carry out the formal act (kamma) against one who is present; and the act, though carried out, would be no act at all, and the Saṅgha performing it would be guilty of an offense (āpatti) — this question of mine has been pondered by those who are skilled.
