[304] A bhikkhu who, having spread out in the open air a bed, a bench, a mattress, or a chair belonging to the Saṅgha, departs without putting it away and without informing anyone, incurs two offenses (āpatti): when he moves his first foot beyond the distance of a clod's throw (leḍḍupāta), there is an offense of wrongdoing (dukkaṭa); when he moves his second foot beyond, there is an offense entailing expiation (pācittiya).
