[316] A bhikkhu sewing a robe (cīvara) for a bhikkhunī who is not a relative commits two offenses (āpatti): while he sews, for the act of effort (payoga) there is an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa); for each and every passage of the needle (ārāpatha), there is an offense entailing expiation (pācittiya).
