[42] "Where was the offence of relinquishment with confession (nissaggiyaṃ pācittiyaṃ) laid down for one who, without taking a sugata-span (sugatavidatthi) from around the border of an old rug (santhata), has a new sitting-rug made?" "It was laid down at Sāvatthī." "With reference to whom?" "With reference to several bhikkhus." "On account of what matter?" "On account of the matter that several bhikkhus, having discarded their rugs, undertook the factor of forest-dwelling, the factor of almsfood-eating, and the factor of rag-robe-wearing." There is one laying down (paññatti). Of the six origins of offences (āpattisamuṭṭhāna), it arises through six origins. …
