[477] "The saṅghādisesa (offense) on account of engaging in acting as a go-between (sañcaritta) — where was it laid down?" "It was laid down at Sāvatthī." "Concerning whom?" "Concerning the Venerable Udāyi." "On what matter?" "On the matter of the Venerable Udāyi engaging in acting as a go-between." There is one rule (paññatti) and one supplementary rule (anupaññatti). Of the six origins of offenses (āpattisamuṭṭhāna), it arises through six origins: it may arise from body, not from speech, not from mind; it may arise from speech, not from body, not from mind; it may arise from both body and speech, not from mind; it may arise from both body and mind, not from speech; it may arise from both speech and mind, not from body; it may arise from body, speech, and mind.
