[730] Spending the rains (vassa) in a residence (āvāsa) where there are no bhikkhus, she commits two offenses (āpatti): thinking, "I shall spend the rains," she prepares a lodging (senāsana), sets out drinking water and water for use, and sweeps the surrounding precinct (pariveṇa) — an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa); together with the arising of dawn — an offense of expiation (pācittiya).
