[978] Summary verse (uddāna):
By one's own speech, and by body; one asleep, and one without intention;
one falling into an offence, and by a formal act; likewise the four modes of speech (vohāra);
of bhikkhus and of bhikkhunīs; a requisite, and in the presence;
unknowing, by body, and in the midst; likewise one emerges (from offence) in two ways;
acquisition, and accusation; probation (parivāsa) is spoken of,
and one observing the mānatta as well; that declared by (the Teacher) himself; acceptance;
the acts concerning the great remedies (mahāvikaṭa); again, formal acts and their failures;
legal issues (adhikaraṇa), and the immoral; the good, and by the incoming (bhikkhu);
one departing; difference of grounds, and with one of the same class; with a preceptor,
a teacher, or requisites; misconduct and good conduct;
one taking, and the person; the worthy one, and with a seat;
it is allowable at the (proper) time, and it is allowable in the border regions;
within, and within the boundary; in a village, and with accusation;
the preliminary duty, opportuneness (pattakalla); not for another (reason), and agreement (sammuti);
the wrong course, and not going the wrong course; the shameless one, and with the virtuous;
two indeed who should be questioned, likewise two who should answer;
cross-examination and discussion; one who is sick, and with the suspension (of the Pātimokkha).
