[992] There are seven offenses (āpatti). There are seven classes of offenses (āpattikkhandha). There are seven adjudicated cases (vinītavatthu). There are seven proper observances (sāmīci). There are seven acts done upon acknowledgment that are not in accordance with Dhamma. There are seven acts done upon acknowledgment that are in accordance with Dhamma. For seven [persons] there is no offense in going on seven-day business (sattāhakaraṇīya). There are seven benefits for one who is expert in the Vinaya (vinayadhara). There are seven "at most" [limits] (parama). At the arising of the seventh dawn it becomes subject to forfeiture (nissaggiya). There are seven means of settlement (samatha). There are seven [formal] acts (kamma). There are seven kinds of raw grain. [A hut may measure] seven spans across in breadth.
