[242] Then the novice (samaṇuddesa) Sīha approached the Venerable Nāgita; having approached, he paid homage to the Venerable Nāgita and stood to one side. Standing to one side, the novice Sīha said this to the Venerable Nāgita: "Venerable Kassapa, these several brahmin emissaries from Kosala and brahmin emissaries from Magadha have come here to see the Blessed One; and Oṭṭhaddha the Licchavi too, together with a large assembly of Licchavis, has come here to see the Blessed One. It would be good, venerable Kassapa, if these people were allowed to see the Blessed One."
"Well then, Sīha, you yourself should inform the Blessed One."
"Yes, venerable sir," the novice Sīha replied to the Venerable Nāgita, and he approached the Blessed One; having approached, he paid homage to the Blessed One and stood to one side. Standing to one side, the novice Sīha said this to the Blessed One: "Venerable sir, these several brahmin emissaries from Kosala and brahmin emissaries from Magadha have come here to see the Blessed One; and Oṭṭhaddha the Licchavi too, together with a large assembly of Licchavis, has come here to see the Blessed One. It would be good, venerable sir, if these people were allowed to see the Blessed One."
"Well then, Sīha, prepare a seat in the shade of the dwelling."
"Yes, venerable sir," the novice Sīha replied to the Blessed One, and he prepared a seat in the shade of the dwelling. Then the Blessed One, having come out of the dwelling, sat down on the seat prepared in the shade of the dwelling. Then those brahmin emissaries from Kosala and brahmin emissaries from Magadha approached the Blessed One; having approached, they exchanged greetings with the Blessed One, and when the courteous and memorable talk was concluded, they sat down to one side.
