[277] Then the Blessed One approached the wanderer (paribbājaka) Poṭṭhapāda. Then the wanderer Poṭṭhapāda said this to the Blessed One: "Let the Blessed One come, venerable sir! Welcome, venerable sir, to the Blessed One! It has been long, venerable sir, since the Blessed One found occasion to come here. May the Blessed One be seated, venerable sir; this seat has been prepared." The Blessed One sat down on the prepared seat. And the wanderer Poṭṭhapāda, taking a certain low seat, sat down to one side. To the wanderer Poṭṭhapāda, seated to one side, the Blessed One said this: "For the sake of what talk, Poṭṭhapāda, are you sitting together here now? And what was the conversation among you that was interrupted?"
