[199] "Medicine" (bhesajja) means: he gives ghee, fresh butter, oil, honey, or molasses, thinking, "Having tasted this, he will die" — an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa). When, that having been tasted, painful feeling (vedanā) arises — an offense of grave transgression (thullaccaya). He dies — an offense entailing defeat (pārājika).
