[410] Now at that time a certain woman was wearing a newly-dyed woolen blanket (navaratta kambala). A certain bhikkhu, being lustful, said to that woman: "Yours is red (lohita), sister." She did not catch the meaning, [and replied]: "Yes, venerable sir, it is a newly-dyed blanket." He was remorseful, [thinking]: "Could it be that I have committed an offence of saṅghādisesa?" He reported the matter to the Blessed One. [The Blessed One said:] "Bhikkhu, there is no offence of saṅghādisesa; there is an offence of dukkaṭa."
Now at that time a certain woman was wearing a rough woolen blanket. A certain bhikkhu, being lustful, said to that woman: "Yours is rough-haired, sister." She did not catch the meaning, [and replied]: "Yes, venerable sir, it is a rough blanket." He was remorseful … "Bhikkhu, there is no offence of saṅghādisesa; there is an offence of dukkaṭa."
Now at that time a certain woman was wearing a newly-washed woolen blanket. A certain bhikkhu, being lustful, said to that woman: "Yours is shaggy-haired, sister." She did not catch the meaning, [and replied]: "Yes, venerable sir, it is a newly-washed blanket." He was remorseful … "Bhikkhu, there is no offence of saṅghādisesa; there is an offence of dukkaṭa."
Now at that time a certain woman was wearing a bristly woolen blanket. A certain bhikkhu, being lustful, said to that woman: "Yours is bristly-haired, sister." She did not catch the meaning, [and replied]: "Yes, venerable sir, it is a bristly blanket." He was remorseful … "Bhikkhu, there is no offence of saṅghādisesa; there is an offence of dukkaṭa."
