[559] He is one who has been seen committing a pārājika offense. [If the accuser] is doubtful about what was seen, does not trust what was seen, does not recall what was seen, has forgotten what was seen … is doubtful about what was heard, does not trust what was heard, does not recall what was heard, has forgotten what was heard … is doubtful about what was suspected, does not trust what was suspected, does not recall what was suspected, has forgotten what was suspected — if he has another accuse him: "You have been suspected, you have been seen …"; "You have been suspected, you have been heard …"; "You have been suspected, you have been seen, you have been heard: you have committed a pārājika offense; you are no ascetic, no son of the Sakyan; there is no Uposatha, no Pavāraṇā, and no formal act of the Saṅgha together with you" — there is an offense of saṅghādisesa for each utterance.
