[148] When the Blessed One had attained final Nibbāna (parinibbāna), simultaneously with the final Nibbāna, the Venerable Anuruddha spoke these verses:
"There was no more breathing in and breathing out
for the one of steady mind (citta), the stable one;
free from perturbation, intent upon peace,
the sage passed away.
With a mind unshrinking
he endured the feeling (vedanā);
like the quenching of a lamp
was the deliverance of his mind."
