[149] When the Blessed One had attained final Nibbāna (parinibbāna), simultaneously with the final Nibbāna, the Venerable Ānanda spoke this verse: Then there was terror, then there was horripilation, when the Perfectly Awakened One (Sambuddha), endowed with all excellent qualities, attained final Nibbāna.
