[271] Then Sakka, lord of the devas, addressed Pañcasikha, son of the gandhabbas: "You have been of great service to me, dear Pañcasikha, in that you first inspired the Blessed One's confidence (pasādesi); it was because you first gave him that gladness that we afterwards approached to see that Blessed One, the Arahant, the Perfectly Enlightened One. I shall establish you in your father's place: you shall be king of the gandhabbas. And I give you Bhaddā Suriyavacchasā, for she is the one you have longed for exceedingly."
Then Sakka, lord of the devas, touching the earth with his hand, uttered this inspired utterance (udāna) three times:
"Homage to that Blessed One, the Arahant, the Perfectly Enlightened One.
Homage to that Blessed One, the Arahant, the Perfectly Enlightened One.
Homage to that Blessed One, the Arahant, the Perfectly Enlightened One."
