[84] In whatever place a person of wise nature makes his dwelling,
having fed there the virtuous, the restrained ones who live the holy life (brahmacārī),
he should dedicate the offering (dakkhiṇā) to whatever deities dwell in that place.
Thus honored, they honor him in return; thus revered, they revere him.
Thereafter they show him compassion,
as a mother does the son born of her breast;
a man on whom the deities have compassion
always sees good fortune.
