[287] Five cases of impossibility (abhabbaṭṭhāna): Friends, a bhikkhu whose taints (āsava) are destroyed is incapable of deliberately depriving a living being of life; a bhikkhu whose taints are destroyed is incapable of taking what is not given in a manner reckoned as theft; a bhikkhu whose taints are destroyed is incapable of engaging in sexual intercourse; a bhikkhu whose taints are destroyed is incapable of speaking a deliberate falsehood; a bhikkhu whose taints are destroyed is incapable of enjoying sensual pleasures by storing them up, as he did formerly when he was a householder.
