[292] Friends, a bhikkhu (bhikkhu) who is an accuser (codaka), wishing to accuse another, should establish five qualities within himself and then accuse the other: 'I will speak at the right time, not at the wrong time; I will speak with what is true, not with what is untrue; I will speak gently, not harshly; I will speak with what is connected with benefit, not with what is unconnected with benefit; I will speak with a mind of loving-kindness, not with inner hatred.' Friends, a bhikkhu who is an accuser, wishing to accuse another, should establish these five qualities within himself and then accuse the other.
