[426] What six things partake of decline (hānabhāgiyā)? Six kinds of disrespect (agārava). Here, friends, a bhikkhu dwells without respect and without deference toward the Teacher; he dwells without respect and without deference toward the Dhamma; he dwells without respect and without deference toward the Saṅgha; he dwells without respect and without deference toward the training; he dwells without respect and without deference toward diligence (appamāda); he dwells without respect and without deference toward hospitality (paṭisanthāra). These six things partake of decline.
