[81] And moreover, venerable sir, this is unsurpassable: the way the Blessed One teaches the Dhamma with regard to the kinds of striving (padhāna). There are, venerable sir, these seven factors of awakening (bojjhaṅga): the awakening factor of mindfulness (sati), the awakening factor of investigation of dhammas (dhammavicaya), the awakening factor of energy (vīriya), the awakening factor of rapture (pīti), the awakening factor of tranquility (passaddhi), the awakening factor of concentration (samādhi), and the awakening factor of equanimity (upekkhā). This, venerable sir, is unsurpassable with regard to the kinds of striving.
