[135] Bhikkhus, further, a bhikkhu acts with clear comprehension (sampajañña) in going forward and returning; he acts clearly comprehending in looking ahead and looking away; he acts clearly comprehending in bending and stretching his limbs; he acts clearly comprehending in bearing the outer robe, bowl, and robes; he acts clearly comprehending in eating, drinking, chewing, and tasting; he acts clearly comprehending in the acts of defecation and urination; he acts clearly comprehending when walking, standing, sitting, asleep, awake, speaking, and keeping silent. Thus he abides contemplating the body in the body internally … Thus too, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu abides contemplating the body in the body.
