[165] And indeed, Sāriputta, Sunakkhatta, that futile man, will not have even this inference in accordance with the Dhamma regarding me: 'Thus indeed is that Blessed One: he understands the minds (citta) of other beings, of other individuals, having encompassed them with his own mind. A mind with lust (rāga) he understands as "a mind with lust"; a mind free from lust he understands as "a mind free from lust." A mind with hatred (dosa) he understands as "a mind with hatred"; a mind free from hatred he understands as "a mind free from hatred." A mind with delusion (moha) he understands as "a mind with delusion"; a mind free from delusion he understands as "a mind free from delusion." A contracted mind he understands as "a contracted mind"; a distracted mind he understands as "a distracted mind." An exalted mind … or an unexalted mind …. A surpassable mind … or an unsurpassable mind …. A concentrated mind … or an unconcentrated mind …. A liberated mind he understands as "a liberated mind"; an unliberated mind he understands as "an unliberated mind."'
