[180] Therein, Sāriputta, this was my practice of scrupulousness (jegucchī). Sāriputta, I stepped forward only with mindfulness (sati), I stepped back with mindfulness. My tender care (dayā) was established even toward a drop of water, thus: 'May I not bring destruction upon the small creatures that have gone into uneven places.' Such, Sāriputta, was my practice of scrupulousness.
