[36] Brahmin, this occurred to me: 'Whatever ascetics or brahmins who are restless, with minds unstilled, resort to secluded lodgings in the wilderness and the forest — those worthy ascetics and brahmins, because of the fault of restlessness and an unstilled mind, assuredly call up unwholesome fear and dread. But I do not resort to secluded lodgings in the wilderness and the forest restless, with a mind unstilled: I am one whose mind is stilled. I am one of those noble ones who, with minds stilled, resort to secluded lodgings in the wilderness and the forest.' Brahmin, seeing in myself this stillness of mind, I became even more assured about dwelling in the forest.
