[361] Thus have I heard. At one time the Blessed One was dwelling at Nādika, in the Brick House (Giñjakāvasatha). Now at that time the venerable Anuruddha, the venerable Nandiya, and the venerable Kimila were dwelling in the Gosiṅga sal-wood park. Then in the evening, the Blessed One, having emerged from seclusion, approached the Gosiṅga sal-wood park. The park keeper saw the Blessed One coming while still far off, and having seen him, said this to the Blessed One: "Ascetic, do not enter this park. There are three clansmen dwelling here who are of a nature desiring their own good; do not cause them discomfort." The venerable Anuruddha heard the park keeper conversing with the Blessed One, and having heard, said this to the park keeper: "Friend park keeper, do not turn away the Blessed One; our Teacher, the Blessed One, has arrived." Then the venerable Anuruddha approached the venerable Nandiya and the venerable Kimila, and having approached, said this to the venerable Nandiya and the venerable Kimila: "Come forth, venerable sirs! Come forth, venerable sirs! Our Teacher, the Blessed One, has arrived." Then the venerable Anuruddha, the venerable Nandiya, and the venerable Kimila, having gone out to meet the Blessed One, one received the Blessed One's bowl and robe, one prepared a seat, and one set out water for washing the feet. The Blessed One sat down on the seat prepared; having sat down, he washed his feet. Those venerable ones, having paid homage to the Blessed One, sat down to one side.
