[497] "Friend, how many conditions are there for the arising of right view?"
"Friend, there are two conditions for the arising of right view: the utterance of another (parato ghoso) and wise attention (yoniso manasikāra). These, friend, are the two conditions for the arising of right view."
"Friend, when right view is supported by how many factors does it have deliverance of mind (cetovimutti) as its fruit, and the fruit of deliverance of mind as its benefit; and have deliverance by wisdom (paññāvimutti) as its fruit, and the fruit of deliverance by wisdom as its benefit?"
"Friend, when right view is supported by five factors it has deliverance of mind as its fruit, and the fruit of deliverance of mind as its benefit; and it has deliverance by wisdom as its fruit, and the fruit of deliverance by wisdom as its benefit. Here, friend, right view is supported by virtue (sīla), supported by learning (suta), supported by discussion (sākacchā), supported by serenity (samatha), and supported by insight (vipassanā). Friend, when right view is supported by these five factors it has deliverance of mind as its fruit, and the fruit of deliverance of mind as its benefit; and it has deliverance by wisdom as its fruit, and the fruit of deliverance by wisdom as its benefit."
