[539] The Blessed One said: "Bhikkhus, when the faith (saddhā) of anyone is settled in the Tathāgata, rooted and established, through these modes, through these words, through these phrases — this, bhikkhus, is called faith endowed with reasons (ākāravatī saddhā), rooted in vision (dassanamūlikā), firm, not to be shaken by any ascetic or brahmin, by any deva, Māra, or Brahmā, or by anyone in the world. Thus, bhikkhus, there is investigation of the Tathāgata in accordance with the Dhamma, and thus the Tathāgata is well investigated in accordance with the Dhamma."
Thus spoke the Blessed One. Delighted, those bhikkhus rejoiced in what the Blessed One had said.
