[564] Then, Wicked One, in the morning, Kakusandha the Blessed One, the Arahant, the Perfectly Self-Awakened One, having dressed and taken his bowl and robe, entered the village for alms with the Venerable Vidhura as his attendant ascetic (pacchāsamaṇa). Then, Wicked One, Dūsī the Māra, having taken possession of a certain boy, took up a stone and gave the Venerable Vidhura a blow upon the head, splitting his head open. Then, Wicked One, the Venerable Vidhura, with his head split open and blood streaming down, followed close behind Kakusandha the Blessed One, the Arahant, the Perfectly Self-Awakened One. Then, Wicked One, Kakusandha the Blessed One, the Arahant, the Perfectly Self-Awakened One, turned to look with the elephant's look, thinking: "This Dūsī the Māra knows no measure." And together with that very gaze, Wicked One, Dūsī the Māra fell away from that place and arose in the Great Hell (mahāniraya).
