[63] It is possible, friend, that some bhikkhu here might conceive this wish: "Oh, that I alone might give the verses of appreciation (anumodanā) after eating in the refectory, and that no other bhikkhu might give the verses of appreciation after eating in the refectory!" But it is possible, friend, that another bhikkhu gives the verses of appreciation after eating in the refectory, and that bhikkhu does not give the verses of appreciation after eating in the refectory. Thinking, "Another bhikkhu gives the verses of appreciation after eating in the refectory; I do not give the verses of appreciation after eating in the refectory," he becomes angry and displeased. That anger, friend, and that displeasure are both a blemish (aṅgaṇa).
