[62] It is possible, friend, that some bhikkhu here might give rise to a wish thus: 'Oh, that I alone might obtain the best seat, the best water, the best almsfood in the refectory, and that no other bhikkhu might obtain the best seat, the best water, the best almsfood in the refectory!' But it is possible, friend, that some other bhikkhu obtains the best seat, the best water, the best almsfood in the refectory, and that bhikkhu does not obtain the best seat, the best water, the best almsfood in the refectory. Thinking, 'Another bhikkhu obtains the best seat, the best water, the best almsfood in the refectory; I do not obtain the best seat, the best water, the best almsfood in the refectory,' he becomes angry and displeased. Both that anger, friend, and that displeasure are a blemish (aṅgaṇa).
