[66] It is possible, friend, that some bhikkhu here might give rise to a wish thus: 'Oh, that the bhikkhus would honor, respect, esteem, and venerate me alone, and that the bhikkhus would not honor, respect, esteem, and venerate another bhikkhu!' But it is possible, friend, that the bhikkhus honor, respect, esteem, and venerate another bhikkhu, and do not honor, respect, esteem, and venerate that bhikkhu. Thinking, 'The bhikkhus honor, respect, esteem, and venerate another bhikkhu; the bhikkhus do not honor, respect, esteem, and venerate me,' he becomes angry and displeased. Both the anger and the displeasure, friend, are a blemish (aṅgaṇa).
