[90] Bhikkhus, if a bhikkhu should wish: "May I, with the destruction of the taints (āsava), realize for myself with direct knowledge (abhiññā), in this very life, the taintless liberation of mind (cetovimutti) and liberation by wisdom (paññāvimutti), and having entered upon it, dwell therein" — let him be one who fulfils virtue (sīla), devoted to inner serenity of mind, not neglecting jhāna, endowed with insight (vipassanā), a cultivator of empty dwellings.
"Bhikkhus, dwell possessed of virtue, possessed of the Pātimokkha; dwell restrained by the restraint of the Pātimokkha, possessed of proper conduct and resort; seeing danger in the slightest faults, train yourselves by undertaking the training rules." Thus, that which was said — it was in dependence on this that it was said.
The Blessed One said this. Delighted, those bhikkhus rejoiced in the Blessed One's words.
The Ākaṅkheyya Sutta, the Sixth, is finished.
