[122] "Householders, there are these four individuals existing and found in the world. What four? Here, householders, a certain individual is a tormentor of himself (attantapa), devoted to the practice of tormenting himself. Here, householders, a certain individual is a tormentor of others (parantapa), devoted to the practice of tormenting others. Here, householders, a certain individual is both a tormentor of himself, devoted to the practice of tormenting himself, and a tormentor of others, devoted to the practice of tormenting others. Here, householders, a certain individual is neither a tormentor of himself, not devoted to the practice of tormenting himself, nor a tormentor of others, not devoted to the practice of tormenting others. He, tormenting neither himself nor others, dwells in this very life hungerless (nicchāta), quenched, become cool, experiencing happiness, with a self become divine (brahmabhūtena attanā)."
