[5] "Venerable sir, the individual who torments himself, devoted to the practice of tormenting himself—this individual does not please my mind (citta). The individual, venerable sir, who torments others, devoted to the practice of tormenting others—this individual too does not please my mind. The individual, venerable sir, who torments himself, devoted to the practice of tormenting himself, and who torments others, devoted to the practice of tormenting others—this individual too does not please my mind. But the individual, venerable sir, who neither torments himself nor is devoted to the practice of tormenting himself, and who neither torments others nor is devoted to the practice of tormenting others—he, tormenting neither himself nor others, dwells in this very life without hunger, quenched, become cool, experiencing happiness, with a self become divine (brahmabhūta). This individual pleases my mind."
