[132] "Rāhula, whatever ascetics or brahmins in the past purified their bodily action, purified their verbal action, purified their mental action — all of them purified their bodily action only after repeatedly reviewing it in just this way, purified their verbal action after repeatedly reviewing it, purified their mental action after repeatedly reviewing it. Rāhula, whatever ascetics or brahmins in the future will purify their bodily action, will purify their verbal action, will purify their mental action — all of them will purify their bodily action only after repeatedly reviewing it in just this way, will purify their verbal action after repeatedly reviewing it, will purify their mental action after repeatedly reviewing it. Rāhula, whatever ascetics or brahmins at present purify their bodily action, purify their verbal action, purify their mental action — all of them purify their bodily action only after repeatedly reviewing it in just this way, purify their verbal action after repeatedly reviewing it, purify their mental action after repeatedly reviewing it. Therefore, Rāhula, you should train thus: 'I shall purify my bodily action after repeatedly reviewing it; I shall purify my verbal action after repeatedly reviewing it; I shall purify my mental action after repeatedly reviewing it.' Thus indeed, Rāhula, should you train." Thus spoke the Blessed One. Satisfied, the venerable Rāhula delighted in the Blessed One's words. The Cūḷarāhulovāda Sutta, the First, is ended. _______________ The Mahārāhulovāda Sutta
